The Clumsy Lovers - High
energy folk music with an amazing fiddler and a chain-smoking guy in
a bunny suit. They're actually from Vancouver, but they often play in
Seattle.
Guardian Alien - A
local trancy group with a world beat flair that I've been meaning to see
more of.
Maktub - Soul, trip-hop, and one
hell of a lot of energy, headed by Seattle's own Bobbie McFerrin on crack,
Reggie Watts.
Jason Webley - An amazing
accordion, guitar, and piano player who sings about death and
vegetables.
Theatre
The Habit - Weird, weird
sketch comedy. Featuring John Osebold of Player King.
UMO - Ah, UMO. They're a
difficult group to describe. Their shows are surreal and
inventive, and at different times they've drawn on buffoonery, fairy
tales, original music, acrobatics, and bungee jumping, always with
great costumery.
Both
Circus Contrapion
- A deranged circus featuring juggling, acrobatics, original music, and a
most unusual menagerie.
Lelavision - A playful
and surreal Mummenschantz-like troupe that combines dance with the playing
of Ela Lamblin's musical sculptures.
